History of Parkers Grove Missionary Baptist Church
Parkers Grove Baptist Church is 142 years old. There have been numerous pastors who have helped lead and shape PGBC into the community staple it is now. Currently the church is under the auspicious leadership of Sr. Pastor, Althea Harris. With the love and Grace of God, we will continue our mission to be a church for all of God's people and to minister to the community with which we belong.

Significant dates
1877 - Land was purchased in New London, NC for Parkers Grove Missionary Baptist Church and was deeded from Samuel Parker to Charles Freeman and Levi Parker
1878 - Parkers Grove Baptist Church Came into Existence
1973 - May 21, 1973 the Parkers Grove Community Center was purchased by the church
2007 - The original church was hit by a drunk driver and damaged beyond repair
2009 - Church services were held at the community center
2010 - New church built and completed by October 2010
2011 - First church service held in new church building at 3:00pm on January 16. We, the church marched from the community center to the new Parkers Grove Baptist Church.
